(FLADS) is an independent, not-for-profit voluntary charitable institution. It's also a non-partisan organization. It aims at setting up and preparing educational, counseling awareness programs to fight the spread of drugs and control the phenomenon by creating a conscious educated young generation. FLADS is the only society in the north of the West Bank specialized in educating the local community about the danger of drugs. It has a voluntary professional superb cadre of doctor, lawyers, lecturers, psychologists, and sociologists, …etc.
Based in Nablus, FLADS began its work in the West Bank in 2005 after it had obtained the necessary permit from the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and its registration with the ministry's societies department. It holds No. NA-854-A. FLADS also has the approval of the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Scope of the society's work includes all the West Bank governorates.
The society was established by a group of educated academics and professionals who realized early the danger of drugs on the Palestinian society and the young people in particular given the leading role these people play in building a strong society. The society's cadre works as a team with the aim of contributing to the protection of the Palestinian society. To this end, the society has prepared a number of activities, events and programs to educate local communities on the devastating consequences of drug abuse and addiction.
FLADS seeks to strengthen, reinforce and immunize the Palestinian civilians and protect them from social diseases: drug taking and addiction and alcohol drinking. It also endeavors to check or curb the spread of this phenomenon in the Palestinian society through public awareness campaigns and professional programs and ancillary psychological and social counseling.
