Mission
Project Hope is a non-profit volunteer organization.
We support children denied access to basic services that every child needs in order to develop into healthy and well-balanced individuals.
We provide educational and recreational activities, medical and humanitarian relief and practical training that empowers them with hope and gives them skills for the future. |

|
We are currently working in Palestine, where the majority of the population is aged 18 or under and living under harsh conditions, making our work all the more important. Through alternatives to violence we are improving both the physical and mental health of our participants. We provide a venue for them to express themselves positively, release frustration, develop skills, engage in dialogue and build hope for the future. Our regular programs include language classes and art. In the spirit of cooperation and to save costs, we provide many different activities in partnership with different Palestinian organizations with the community.

English classes
English is very important for employment and the pursuit of higher education in Palestine. It is often used as the primary tongue at the post-secondary level, and many university scholarship opportunities depend on the ability to speak English.
Many jobs also require English language proficiency and hold interviews in English. In a country with over 50% unemployment, this makes English invaluable. Project Hope provides English classes from beginner to advanced stages, as well as classes for specific purposes. Though our focus is on children and youth, we are open to all potential students. There are also important aspects of psychological relief by giving the students a positive and normal environment where they can express themselves.

French classes
The principles behind the French classes are much the same as those for the
English classes. The classes are meant to be about having fun, personnal development and practical use of the language. Our focus is more on actual communication than grammar rules. French can be useful for employment, scholarship opportunities, and for communication with French speaking countries and organizations, there is also a genuine desire to learn more about French culture and the language identified with "culture and romance".
We do normally not provide language classes other than in English and French. However, we have on occasion in the past provided classes in languages such as Spanish and Italian.

Previous activities
Concurrent with its primary activities Project Hope is a portal for skilled volunteers to contribute something to the people of Palestine. Volunteers are given a chance to develop their own program according to their skills and in line with the aims of Project Hope. Previous activities include: Drama, Music, Photography, Sports and Medical programs.
|

|
Through drama and music children are given full freedom to express themselves and are encouraged to tackle any subject they feel is important or valuable, with local or international adults guiding the process. With photography students are able to record their daily lives and share their experiences with the wider world to give us a unique glimpse of Palestinian daily life. Medical programs have included a small team of nurses and first aiders traveling to the camps and villages around Nablus and teaching basic First Aid and Health Promotion to women, enabling them to provide life-saving services to their children and community.
Project Hope has also helped a child reach Italy in order to have
a heart surgery and facilitated the donation of baby incubators to West Bank hospitals. |
